AVATARA

Set in the turbulent and culturally changing world of the early Roman Empire, Avatara brings to life the religious and shifts and philosophical debate that were changing human history – from increasing trade from the east along the Silk Road, to the birth of Christ.

The story follows the journey of three holy men, a Hindu, a Buddhist and a Zaroastrian as they seek a boy, growing up after a miraculous birth. But where should they look for the boy?

As they travel from India and ancient Persia, a druid from the forests of Gaul and a Helenised Jew from Antioch join them and try to help. They meet Herod the Great and the Roman governor, and a community of ascetic Essenes.

Will they find the one they are looking for? Do all of them share the same vision and a common destiny that guides them on the path to the Avatara, a deity born into the world?
